Oleksii Fishchuk’s passion is to work with children helping them overcome trauma, whether from being a war refugee or from trauma in the home.

He is a bass/baritone, as well as an exceptional children's choir conductor in Ottawa. He graduated from the National Music Academy in Kyiv, Ukraine as a conductor and instructor.

Under his guidance, the children in the Ottawa Ukrainian Children’s Choir, which he founded, continue to flourish, overcoming their shyness, increasing their self worth and helping them to overcome trauma, leaving a lasting impact on these young minds.

He is also an arts project manager, choir conductor and performer with over a decade of experience in managing arts projects from inception to completion.

Oleksii continues to work as a baritone-soloist in a variety of vocal genres; opera, chamber, folk, liturgical choral, modern, pop, and vocal improvisation. Currently, Fishchuk is actively participating in many musical projects in Canada and internationally.
